Name: Pecker
Age: 118
Gender: male
Alignment: good
Krimzon Guard Rank: n/a
Personality: No one is quite more jaded about the world than Pecker. Blessed with a very unfortunate name, it's rubbed him the wrong way most of his life and made him a very bitter and snappish little monkaw. As the interpreter for the ancient blind soothsayer Onin, he takes his job very seriously. Sometimes too seriously, as far as certain orange-and-yellow ottsels are concerned. But since he's the only one who can translate for her? He makes sure everyone who comes for her advice knows what they're in for and takes absolutely no crap from anyone. At all. When in a good mood, Pecker is surprisingly chipper, though this is so rare it's believed to just be a rumor. He enjoys napping and pestering Daxter. He prides himself on being extremely intelligent, and even though he has an ego about it, it really isn't all for nothing. And he will make sure to let everyone know that at every single passing opportunity.
Physical Appearance: Standing nearly three feet tall, and something around four feet long from his nose to the tip of his tail, Pecker is... well, a monkaw. A monkey with features similar to those of a macaw. He is winged and somewhat pudgy. Red, blue, and yellow feather pattern. His long tail is prehensile and he can both grab things with it and hang from things with it.
Strengths: Extremely intelligent and very knowledgeable about the history of Haven City. Has a pithy insult for every occasion. Can fly. Is the only person who can translate for Onin.
Weaknesses: Huge ego. Can't actually fight. Is, when you get right down to it, an absolute coward. Due to his size is much more susceptible to injury than someone bigger than him.
Brief History: Very little is known at all about Pecker's history. He was adopted at a very young age by a very young Onin, raised by her... and after a while, it became obvious he was chosen for his abnormal intelligence. He kept the name given to him by his mother's limited vocabulary, but learned with time to interpret Onin and eventually became her translator, giving eerily accurate predictions based on what he knew of what Onin was signing to those who came for her advice.
When the resistance really got moving, the Shadow came to rely on Onin's counsel, and Pecker was honored to have such a dignified role. He immediately took a dislike to Daxter, despite the fact that Onin put every faith in Jak. He did what he could to help when he could, and in the new regime, he mostly delivers messages from Onin to people she feels needs them.
Extras: Because Onin can only be understood by having Pecker translate her, I'll be NPCing Onin exclusively. So here's some information about Onin! She's cryptic, old, and old. She seems to have had Pecker around since she was very young herself, and could be the reason he's as intelligent as he is compared to normal monkaws. She seems to be precognitive and has a vast memory of the past, and though she is completely blind, she is one of the greatest information sources in the city.

Sample Post: Sometimes, his life seemed almost easier than it should've been. But something was bothering Pecker, and most of that something was that Onin seemed distraught as of late. She seemed to be insisting something was going to happen... and the past was coming back to haunt them. He honestly had almost not been able to interpret her frantic signals. He wondered if he should tell anyone yet. She had insisted no... that the future had to take its course. But while Pecker had no love for several of those who had helped to save the city, he couldn't shake the feeling that he had to let them know somehow.
He did know for a fact that Onin was never wrong. She had not been wrong in disliking Kor, who had never come around her because he had known she would be able to tell what he really was. She had not been wrong in Jak's role in saving the city, or who and what he really was. She hadn't been wrong so far, and he had no reason to doubt her reasoning this time. That didn't mean it didn't ruffle his feathers in all the wrong ways and tie his tail in knots. He sighed, giving a little bit of a huffy sigh as he sunk down where he sat in Onin's hat. She made a sort of questioning sound, to which he only responded with a comment about contemplating what he may go find himself for dinner.
So what could he do? He could sit here and wait. There was that. But that didn't sit any better with him than not telling anyone. He could go tell someone, but that would be betraying Onin's trust, and she relied on him to be a steadfast relayer of information she could not simply give. Grumbling finally, he spread his wings and took to the air, stating plainly that he was going to find something to eat before gliding out of the tent.
Flying always made him feel better anyway.
