”Urrgh…” So… slowly. Painfully. A surge of pain, from both the Eco and muscle tension pulsed through the thick skull of the teenager, before she gave a slight huff. Light, pale hands gently thrusted themselves against the mattress. A loud ’sproing’ filled the air as they recoiled against the cheap springs within that old bed. Dark blue hues mixed with a colourless gray for eyes, along with trembling, ebony pupils shook violently. Not in fear, but… in pain. What day was it? It is.. The thirteenth..? She thought. Half-opened eyes gently tilted along with her head, dark locks of hair shifting to fall into her pale face. These eyes hit the sunlight perfectly as it made its way through the window blinds, absorbing the thick rays. No wonder she gave another moan. Her typically droopy ears twitched slightly.
Oh.. That’s right.
Sahng thought as she forced herself out of her bed, wincing slightly at the obnoxious squeaks produced by the rusted springs. There was a loud ringing noise that soon went through one of the girl’s ear, then straight out the other. And boy did it just make her morning even worse. What she had only just remembered was what led her to being in her bed, even though the last time she was awake, she was somewhere out in the slums. She had discharged. A huge one it was to. Luckily, Geal was with her when it happened. He must’ve dragged her off to an alley somewhere, then carried her home when it was all over. Typical him. Exiting the mostly bare bedroom, Sahng went out into the living area. The rare silence told her that Geal was gone. That meant, some note from him must’ve been lying around somewhere. It sat atop the old, round wooden coffee table. From the looks of it, he was in a rush. It was a partially crumpled piece of paper, and his handwriting, just about as bad enough to match it. I got a fun little job not too far off. Not sure of when I’ll be back, so try your best not to worry for me, my sweet honey. -Geal With a low growl, Sahng crushed the scrap paper, then tossed it into some random corner. ”That dumb idiot…” She grumbled out of what could’ve been worry- No. That isn’t her. Annoyance. Most definitely annoyance. Without much of anything at all to do, Sahng went back into her room to take a quick shower and throw some clothes on. She wore her usual attire. Consisted of a pair of old, worn black boots. Dark gray, work-ripped pants. And a mid-length sleeved, dark blue shirt. As usually, she pulled on her signature long coat to hide whatever other skin could be shown. It was more of a precaution than something that should be taken seriously. She naturally just work normal clothes that could hide most of her skin without the coat, anyway. On her way out, Sahng made sure to grab her gun, which was immediately hidden within her coat. And then, she was out in the streets. She couldn’t help, but wince at the brightness of it all. Even though it could’ve possibly only been a day or two, her eyes went sensitive to the light. Again. Within the dilemma, she pulled her hood over her head and set out on a stroll.

Woosh!
Right past the girl's head sailed something in a brilliant assortment of red, blue, and yellow. Closer inspection would prove it was a monkaw, one Pecker by name, carrying a satchel of some kind in his talons. Probably holding credits. Most people around Haven knew of him... at least those who were likely to visit the old soothsayer Onin for advice or counsel. Today, however, he was not out for any important errand or anything.
He was grocery shopping. Which he did surprisingly often, away from the market sector, because up here he could find the more unique items Onin sometimes requested. He didn't notice he'd buzzed somebody's head, really. He was repeating his "grocery list" in his head, humming something to himself. Upbeat tune though it was, it was probably what was distracting him even more than the music.
Thoughtfully, he landed on a parked zoomer, holding the bag to reach inside and pull out a list that was actually on paper, giving it a once over. No one paid him any mind. After all, since the war had ended, animals were becoming more and more common about the city. Mostly as pets. But that was neither here nor there, now, was it?

OOC;; DX I’m sorry for not having posted this a century ago! I’ve been having many laptop issues lately! Let’s hope it never sharts again, ey?
IC;; Hands buried pocket-deep Sahng slowly trudged amongst the dull streets. Her steps were unusually silent, which tended to startle a person or to every couple of minutes. But such a thing wasn’t intention, of course. She was just getting lost in her accumulating thoughts about, you guessed it, Geal.
What exactly did he mean by ‘fun’..?
She had to think to herself. Knowing Geal and how much of a narcissist he could be, its possible that the man was advertising himself. Not that he has done it before. Or that the women of Haven would probably even accept. The man was just sometimes so… so.. stupid. ”Hrm.. What am I thinking?” She had somehow managed to mumble to herself. “That man would never get himself into something so stu-!!!” Whoosh! It seemed to all happen suddenly when something had made its way zooming lightning fast (or so it seemed to Sahng at the moment) passed the young woman’s head. She usually wasn’t always that jumpy, but when things had cut to certain measurements, it was only natural that one would just get somewhat uncomfortable. Sahng Merrou included. For a moment, she stopped to wonder how exactly should she go about the little embarrassing moment. Especially when her hand had already automatically went to her gun, which was concealed inside of her protective coat. No. Not that.. Taking a gun out in the middle of the housing area would not only be dangerous, but stupid, and just plain and clearly insane at the same time. Especially if what flew by was just someone’s pet. Still. Sahng being just the way she was had to take her hand from her coat and do a quick turn on her heel. She had the right to be a bit curious as to what was able to surprise her of all people. It was a.. ”Monkaw?” She had blurted out of disbelief.

Pecker had been completely distracted by looking over his grocery list until someone nearby blurted "Monkaw?" This actually caused him to glance up with a baffled expression, casting a glance around to find the person who had said it. He hadn't experienced someone being surprised about him in quite a long while. After all, he was Pecker! He was the translator for the wise and benevolent Onin! The voice where she had none! The only one capable of interpreting the runes and ancient gestures--...
Well, you get the idea.
When he finally did find the person, who happened to be staring at her, he put the list back in the sack he was carrying and rested his wings approximately where his hips would be, curled into feathery "fists." And he stared back, for a good minute. Anyone passing would probably find it to be a rather silly looking thing... this girl staring at this monkaw carrying a bag and sitting on a zoomer.
After some time had passed and Pecker felt he had sufficiently let his appearance "sink in," he sighed and tapped his free talon against the seat of the zoomer. "What?" he questioned. "Haven't you ever seen a monkaw at work before? You would think everyone in this town would know that at least one silly beast has sense in its head! Not counting that idiot rodent that Jak carries around..."
